Special polymers (fluoropolymers, such as PTFE) are used to reduce the surface energy of the substrate surface and that effectively prevents many different substances – e.g. foods, adhesive, rubber or plastic – from sticking.

The choice of non-stick coating from the hundreds available to Aalberts UK is made based on experience and knowledge on how different fluoropolymers behave in different applications. For example, we have over two dozen different PTFE formulations each with unique non-stick and release properties. Trade names include Xylan®, Teflon® and Greblon®.

In addition to being able to apply non-stick and release coatings, Aalberts UK coatings can also be used in easy clean situations.

A major advantage of using Aalberts UK for your non-stick, release or easy clean coatings is our ability to apply a layer of metal or ceramic beneath the fluoropolymer. This PlasmaCoat® process creates a complex matrix within which the fluoropolymer is held, thus improving the coating performance.
