Blister packaging uses coatings that are hard wearing with non-stick properties. For example, if a preheater plate is used, then the coating must prevent the plastic film from sticking to the hot preheater plate. Likewise for the vacuum/blow moulding tools and the heat seal tools. Having achieved the non-stick property, the next objective is to have a coating that lasts for as long as possible.
